 Team8, it's crunch time!

We are four weeks away from deadline. The time has come for stating the problem and presenting your solution to help people in Islambag, Dhaka, Bangladesh deal with recurring floods and all the mayhem that comes with them.

You need to start developing content for the presentation boards.  Show the "Who, Where, Why, What and How" of the problems and your solutions.

You can do this via texts, diagrams, charts, maps, graphs, photos, drawings, models, and "other" to convey what you learned in your research along with the thought processes and forms of your solutions.

As a partial guide, please consider some of the following questions and topics. This is not a complete list by any means.  Please post your work to the Blog and/or the GoogleDoc over the weekend.
  • write a sentence or short paragraph that states the problem, or a part of the problem, as you understand it. Topics might include housing types, flood control or mitigation, public health, local materials, weather patterns, financing, history, demographics, topography, water use....
  • describe, in words, pictures, or other, how you would solve the problem.
  • consider what discipline you want to focus on: architecture, engineering, construction management, scheduling, cost estimating.
  • finally, post the research that you have completed to date on the blog or in the GoogleDoc.
Remember, we are looking to finalize concepts Monday with a production start for the week of February 15.

All the best from

the Mentors
